Esperanto
I had never read or heard anything in esperanto in my life… I was surprised to realize that I can understand a lot out of it! Try it and let me know if the same happens to you:
In addition to that: some mothers have told me in the past, while living in Germany, they would not talk to their children in their mother tongue (they come from Eastern European countries, Russia, etc), as Germans would not accept or stare at them if they would do so. I told them I speak Portuguese to my children. Their answer:
- But your mother tongue is an European one!
Through this answer I could better realize how different is the perception of “importance” between the languages. People who speak English can often only speak this language, nevertheless they are often seen as “more important”. Think about it.

Hello Sandra,
Until 5 years ago I had forgotten all about the existence of Esperanto, then somebody reminded me and I started googling ‘Esperanto’ and was amazed to see how many hits I got. Then I started learning it….

Hi Birdulino,
Esperanto seems to be an interesting language. But it doesn’t matter which language we use, the most important is to look for understanding and cooperation between people coming from different nations, isn’t it? Peace and love for the world!
Kind regards,
Sandra
